Hibiki Kuze or as well known as the Shining One (輝く者, Kagayaku Mono) is the main Protagonist of Devil Survivor 2: The Blitheness series. When he was a child, Hibiki was quiet and reserved due to lack of attentions from his parents and being bullied by his classmates. E'er since he started to befriend Daichi, however, Hibiki started to become brighter kid like the way he is at present.
Personality-wise, Hibiki is a calm yet cheerful, and somewhat laid-back swain, especially around his best friend, Daichi. They are taken to JP's hideout that located underneath the government Diet Edifice. He is and then taken to the control center past Makoto Sako while Daichi and Io is taken to some other room. There, he is introduced to JP's chief, Yamato Hotsuin, who ordered Makoto to have him to him. Both explains the cataclysm is caused by invaders called Septentriones that will appear each in one day, and the first Septentrione that he defeated today, Dubhe, is a small fry compared to the remaining vi. Unless they defeated all of the Septentriones, the globe will be destroyed completely. The Septentriones can only exist defeated with the power of demons, and thus, asking for Hibiki's cooperation due to his powerful demon. Hibiki lost at words for the sudden information. Before leaving, Yamato tells him to obey him, leaving Hibiki in wonder of his choices. At the room, while he is thinking nigh JP's and Septentriones, Io awakes and asks what volition happen to the three of them. Hibiki uses Byakko to destroy the core and they seems to be winning when megrez disappears. All the same, Megrez ressurects itself and set on again. Makoto informs them that unless the three Megrez is destroyed at the same time, information technology will continue to revive itself.

During the battle, Hibiki and Io received Ronaldo, Joe, and Otome'southward decease clip that shows them killed past Megrez'south set on. Hibiki is grief stricken by their deaths, just understands that that is the path they have chosen, which is the same as him.

In a bridge, he ponders how Ronaldo and the others' decease in vain and wishes for all of it to be a dream. However, Alcor appears and says information technology's reality. Hibiki asks angrily at Alcor is this the manner demons to toy with humans and why he didn't help humans even though he is non a demon. Back in his room, Hibiki reads the file Ronaldo gave to him virtually JP's and Hotsuin family unit's plan as he thinks that he must shouldering the burden of the lives that had lost.
All the remaining summoners are gathered for a feast as a grade of gratitude for Airi and Hinako's assist in Alioth's defeat, though Fumi is the only one enjoying the meal while everyone else are reluctant. Yamato and then reveals that after two days, the invasion will be over and the surviving humans will be allowed to meet Polaris. Hibiki, who already knew from Alcor, explains that JP'due south and Hotsuin family unit intends to create a world based from merit with Polaris' power, something that Ronaldo tried to stop.
